The future of the Occidental Community Center, the YMCA building, is up for discussion on Monday (2/25) at 7 p.m. Go to the community center to check out the building and help decide how it can be used by the community. It’s at the corner of Bohemian Hwy. and Graton Rd. in Occidental.

Wednesday (2/27) at 7 p.m. it’s movie night at the Sebastopol Grange.The movie is “In Transition” about the world-wide Transition Towns movement as people everywhere prepare for climate change. The Sebastopol Grange is holding a Seed Swap Thursday (2/28) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. If you are bringing seed you can come at 6:30 p.m. and you are asked to label your seed with type, origin and harvest information. On Friday (3/1) the Sebastopol Senior Center is taking a field trip to General Vallejo’s home in Sonoma. The day trippers will leave the center at 267 N High St. at 10 a.m. The trip costs $23. To reserve and for more information call 829-2440.
Occidental Arts and Ecology Center begins its renowned Permaculture Course on Saturday (3/2) at 5 p.m.and runs through Mar. 15. The cost is $1650 and includes room and board. Go to oaec.org for information or to register. The center is at 15290 Coleman Valley Rd. in Occidental.

Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Department will serve up a pancake breakfast with all the fixings on Sunday (3/3) from 8 a.m. to noon. In the Bloomfield fire hall on Bloomfield Rd. It’s $8 for adults, and $5 for kids.
Isadora Duncan lives again at Occidental Center for the Arts on Sunday (3/3) at 4 p.m. when dancer when Lois Flood interprets her historic choreography. The lyrical, dramatic and heroic dances are set to music by Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Gluck; some interpret the Greek myths; all are in classical costume. Tickets are $10.
