New Year’s Eve action

In Sebastopol Hopmonk Tavern will celebrate with the Mike Singers Series bringing in Shinehead for a “New Year’s Eve Bashment” featuring reggae and hip hop, beginning at 10 p.m. Tickets are $17 in advance, $20 at the door.  It’s at 230 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. Aubergine is holding the Artists and Models New Year’s Eve Ball beginning at 9 p.m. Music will be provided by Free Peoples, David T. Studio E is having a party with David LaFlamme and It’s a Beautiful Day among other local notables such as Kate Price, Nina Gerber, Jeff Martin, Jon Berger, Vic Carberry  and Chris Carney. There is a debut showing of a documentary about LaFlamme, a complementary dinner,  homemade desserts, party favors and more. Tickets in advance are $50 (reservations needed). Rocker Oysterfeller’s in Valley Ford is throwing a glamorous 1960s party (think Mad Men). Appropriate period clothing is welcomed but not required .From 5:30 to 9 p.m. a four-course meal will be served with an optional $25 wine/cocktail pairing. At 9 p.m., dancing to recorded music from 1960s will begin, with a toast at midnight. Cost is $75. For those seeking a quieter entry into the new year dhyana Center is offering a midnight yoga and meditation session from 10:15 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. Tickets are $15 – $20 but it’s on a sliding scale and no one is turned away for lack of funds.
