What’s In Store: Free meals at Inn at the Tides
Inn at the Tides management realized many people are choosing lighter meals at reasonable prices in this economy and this health conscious time. Chris Wedel, Executive Assistant, said the menu was beginning to be slightly outdated. So after revamping it with an Italian flare and lowering meal prices they wanted to get the word out to the locals.
So they decided the best way was to give away meals. They sent out 940 postcards to all the boxholders at the Post Office that could be turned in for a free dinner. It was a way to introduce the new menu which features traditional Italian dishes, and some innovative new ones.
Starters are as low as $6.50, most entrees are now less than $20, and there is even a Margherita pizza for $10. Locals nicknamed Inn at the Tides which sits on top of a hill High Tides to distinguish it from the waterfront Tides Restaurant, called, of course, Low Tides.
Now geographically it may be higher, but pricewise it’s a reasonable place to eat. Filet mignon and some other old favorites are now being offered as specials. It’s still tablecloths and candles type dining.
So far, the new marketing technique is a success. Over 600 people have claimed their free dinners.
