Homesteading workshop
Learn how to really make your own food at a Homesteading Weekend Saturday (8/18) and Sunday (8/19). On Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. learn how to process your chickens from Nathan Feileacan and Brian Gaberman ($15). From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. learn preserving and lacto-fermentation from Michelle Feilaecan ($15). From 3 to 4 p.m. there is a free West County Alpacas Tour with Noëlle Gaberman, so you can meet the alpacas and the proprietor of West County Alpacas and be among the first to get in on the CSA-style Yarn Share program. From 4 to 6 p.m. there is a potluck dinner. On Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. you can learn to build with the earth itself making an earthen oven and a cob bench ($60). It includes a farm grown lunch from noon to 1 p.m. The entire weekend of workshops is $70 if you want to attend them all. Register by Paypal or send any questions to Michelle@Feileacan.com.
