WOW – West of the West wine festival featuring two day of seminars and tastings of coastal wines in Sonoma County begins in Occidental at 10 a.m. Saturday and ends at 4 p.m. Sunday. Bodega’s Big Event starts at 1- a.m. Sunday (8/5) with Sonoma County’s shortest parade. There will be a tri-tip and chicken barbecue, live music, exhibits, crafts, and lots of fun. Admission is free – but do buy some barbecue. It’s the Volunteer Fire Department’s major fundraiser. It all happens in downtown Bodega.
Tomales Regional History Center is having an exhibit of old photos to commemorate the 100th birthday from 1 to 4 p.m. At the same time in Tomales Town Park there’s a potluck picnic reunion of the classes 1936 to 1949. Alumni can party then stroll down the block to see if they can find their old class pictures.
Occidental Arts and Ecology Center is holding a Wise Water Workshop and tour of the center’s water systems from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $35 to learn how to set up graywater systems, catch roof run off and other conservation methods.
