Small town with a Big Event
The little town of Bodega is rolling out the red carpet for Sonoma County so it can raise money to support its volunteer fire department on Sunday, Aug. 5.
The day will start with a parade billed as “Sonoma County’s shortest parade”. It may be short but it is entertaining and this year’s Grand Marshal is Alfred Hitchcock (or someone disguised as him anyway). It begins at 10 a.m. Look out for the dressed up dogs who compete in a fashion show after the parade.
Everyone in town gets involved, and a lot of the volunteers will be manning the barbecue, cooking up chicken or tri-tip dinners for sale. There will be crafts, activities for children, and the Cosmic Commode, Bodega’s infamous dunk seat will be working overtime.
All that and a live band to dance to. Don’t miss the fun. It’s free, although the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department hopes you’ll buy a great dinner from them.
