What’s In Store: Women and wine at Inn at the Tides

The Inn at the Tides is about to launch its 2012 summer/fall Winemaker Dinner series, but this year there is a new twist – all the winemakers are women.

“I wanted to do something different,” said Executive Assistant Chris Wedel, “and I thought, why not women? It turned out there are lots of them, and they are all in Sonoma County.”

Wedel said she is getting a good reaction and many people have already made reservations. The prices for the dinners  vary according to the menu and can be found at innatthetides.com. Reservations can be made at (800) 541-7788.

The prestigious list includes: July 13,  La Crema Winery’s Elizabeth Grant Douglas, winemaker; August 10,  Marimar Estate with Marimar Torres, proprietor and winegrower;  September 21,  Carol Shelton Winery with Carol Shelton, proprietor  and winemaker; October 19,  Selby Winery with Susie Selby, proprietor and winemaker; November 9,  Wilson Winery with Diane Wilson, proprietor and winemaker, and December 14,  Arrowood Winery with Heidi von der Mehden, winemaker.
