New non-smoking rules in west county
If smokers thought they could enjoy that post-prandial puff if they sat at an outdoor table they are in for a disappointment in most of west Sonoma County. Any place that falls within the county jurisdiction has a new rule beginning June 1 – no smoking at any outdoor seating for restaurants and bars.
That means Bodega Bay, Occidental, Freestone, Valley Ford, Bodega, Guerneville, Monte Rio, and other small towns are going to be a little bit healthier now.
“This is part of envisioning Sonoma County as one of the healthiest places to live, work and play,” said Lynn Silver Chalfin, the county’s new health officer.
If smokers think they can go to incorporated areas such as Sebastopol or Santa Rosa to light up, sorry. The same ordinance has already been adopted by those townships. Time to find a new vice.

Ve haff vays of stopping you. We vill creat a master race. The war on drugs is lost so pick on something legal to justify your pay check.
Well that pretty much clears my West County dining and entertainment calendar. Drive in, drive out, drive on. Enjoy the company of…yourselves. Oh, before I motor through, is there anything else that is perfectly legal that you folks would like to use to discriminate against me? Ignorance of the law is no excuse so please let me know as soon as the Politboro has made their decision. Thanks.
