Celebration at Bohemia Preserve
Landpaths is offering an opportunity to explore and celebrate its newest ecological preserve Bohemia near Camp Meeker. The 554 acre preserve will be open to the public 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 6.
Parking at the preserve is limited so Westminster Woods at 6510 Bohemian Highway is opening its parking lots and Landpaths will run shuttles beginning at 11:30 a.m. At 12:30 p.m. the first round of guided hikes pointing out the treasures of the preserve will begin. At 1:30 there is a nature hunt for kids. From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. there will be a drumming invocation and the key players who made the preserve a reality will be honored.
At 3:30 the Danza Azteca Xantotl will perform traditional Mexica dances. At 4:30 p.m. the last round of guided hikes will begin. At 7 p.m. the last shuttle back to the parking lot leaves.
People can bring a picnic lunch or dinner or buy one from Park Avenue Catering. There will be local beer and wine. Bring your own plate and cups as this is a waste free
