Bodega Bay church turns 75

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 | Posted by | one response

Bodega Bay Union Church will hold special services to celebrate its 75th anniversary on Sunday Feb. 26. In 1937 when a missionary named Carl Jungkeit opened the doors to a Sunday school someone took a picture of the pastor with his wife Nina and their one year old son Dwight. The son,  a retired missionary, will speak at age 76, at the church his father found locked up one day in 1932. The service begins at 10 a.m. with music by the Crandall Brothers. After Rev. Jungkeit speaks there will be a celebratory lunch in the dining room downstairs. At 12:30 p.m.  there will be a program in the sanctuary commemorating the ministry over the last 75 years and all the people that made it possible. Anyone wishing to attend or those with old photos can call Pastor Jerry Lites at 874-3949 or on his cell at 696-4971.
