This is the time to buy those baby plants for the fall and winter garden, so they can still be warmed by the soil and get a good start. Occidental Arts and Ecology Center is holding its two day fall plant sale Friday and Saturday, August 20 and 21. A large variety of perennial and food plants are available. The gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. It’s also a good time to see the 37 year old certified organic Mother Garden in all her glory as the center is offering tours of the entire establishment for free at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The center is located at 15290 Coleman Valley Road in Occidental.
