The Big Game – Tomales High Football plays for championship
Friday Night Lights excitement will reach a peak with tomorrow night’s game, November 12th, as the Tomales High varsity football team goes for its fifth League Championship in a row.
They will be playing at home against the Calistoga Wildcats, a team they beat last year 44-0.
Leon Feliciano, in his 14th year at Tomales, has led the Braves through an incredible continuous winning streak in conference games for the past five years.
With only 21 players on the varsity team, the head coach counts on all of his men and they have continued to give their very best effort every game.
For a school with a student body of less than 200, it has always had huge support from its Boosters Club.
Until only a few years ago, there were no Friday Night Lights for Tomales and at-home games were played on Saturday afternoons.
With the purchase and installation of some used lights, more people than ever started showing up.
The term Friday Night Lights is popular with high schools throughout the country and comes from a book, movie, and TV series about the pride of a small town in its football team.
The stands are bound to be full as fans cheer on their team to win that one last big game.
