Castles & Kites Festival

Savor the sand and the sun on Saturday, April 24 at Doran Beach in Bodega Bay.

Castles will be built and kites will be flown.

The Annual Castles and Kites Festival runs from 10:00am-3:00pm.

There will be stunt kite demonstrations and “expert” sand castle making.

Sonoma County Regional Parks is hosting the free event. There is, however, a park entrance fee of $6 per car.

Parking is limited and car-pooling or early attendance is recommended.

Doran Park staff will provide tools and molds for children who have not brought their own.

There will also be kite-making for the kids and a free kite repair clinic.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their own kites, sand castle tools, and picnic lunches.

The two kite shops in Bodega Bay will be on site, as well.

Candy and Kites and Second Wind will put on demonstrations and have kites, sand pails, and many other beach fun things for sale.

Doran Regional Park is reached by turning left at Doran Beach Road at the south end of Bodega Bay.
